THE CHIC NERD
There are days when I am in the mood to use fashion as a medium to express, experiment, and figure out my own identity, while there are other days where I use it to impress and mold into how I want the world to see me.
There is no denying the fact that fashion trends change from time to time, however, we can all agree that technology is and will continue to make more advancements and developments in the 21st century and beyond. Then why not invest in products that blend the two?
The line between technology and fashion is beginning to blur as we see the rise of tech-focused fashion brands. These jaw-dropping smart innovations are making their way into our closet, listed below are some of them to amp up your accessories game.
1. Wearable X Jersey

Imagine feeling the rush that your favorite footballer feels while taking a penalty or the bliss that follows after scoring a bicycle kick. Sounds like a hallucination, right? Wearable X, has launched a Football Fan Shirt for European League fans to turn their dreams into reality; a shirt that fans can wear to feel major plays on the field. Their app via Bluetooth will let users select the team they want to connect with, users then can experience sensations similar to what players feel. Real-time data is collected to send alerts to the shirt’s sensors, which then send vibrations across the user’s skin creating an emotional attachment for the wearer. It tunes the fans in with the heartbeat of the player, giving them the opportunity to relish this new “fourth dimension of entertainment.”
2. Nadi X

Nadi X is another extraordinary fabrication of Wearable X, it is an activated yoga pant with detectors built in and around the hips, knees, and ankles, which gives you guided feedback in the form of vibrations. These pants work with an app that has three different modes: you can learn yoga for the first time if you’re a novice, you can do a guided program where you get assistance for the poses that you pre-select in the app, or if you’re more accustomed to yoga, you can perform the entire flow yourself. These innovative pants are available in enticing variants like solid black, mesh, and stripes. This creative creation isn’t about correct or incorrect yoga, it’s about pants that make you feel good and more comfortable with yourself.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. The students of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne teamed up with the startup IcosaMed to develop the SmartBra — the first piece of smart clothing that can be used for cancer prevention. Unlike existing cancer-detection technologies that use radiation, IcosaMed’s technology emits ultrasound to perform echography scans for potentially cancerous cells. The ultrasound waves are generated using piezoelectric sensors which allows miniaturizing the SmartBra’s detection system so that it’s still comfortable to wear and nearly imperceptible. If the system detects a suspicious mass of cells, it will alert the wearer so that she can schedule an appointment with a specialist.
